READING POKER TELLS
"Poker Tells" the secret inside world to reading your opponents poker hand based on their behaviors. Is this a fact or a fallacy?
I believe that most players display small behavioral tells but unless you are playing with them frequently they are difficult to pick up. These "poker tells" are certainly more distinguishable in newer players than veteran players. Certainly these tells are more visible in a land based casino game of holdem than playing online texas holdem. With the popularity of online poker comes the challenge of figuring out how to read the tells of cyber players.
Poker is a card game of strategy based on your hand and what you perceive your opponents hands to be. So having the ability to "read your opponents cards" well is key to winning more hands that not. The all important question is how do you read your opponent when you can't physically see him/her. Each poker player traditionally has a style of play about him. Poker players typically have set limits that they will play in and not deviate from those limits very often. This of course is the most successful way to play poker and win more pots than not. Learning the limits of your opponent is the very essence of his "poker tells". On occasion you will come across a player who is erratic in his playing style and these players are very difficult to read. The real strategy to winning at poker is to play the right hands to optimize your winnings at the table.
