Democratic candidate Dino Rossi Interview
Democratic Gubernatorial candidate Dino Rossi recently expressed his dissatisfaction with the felony class state law in Washington regarding online poker. Mr. Rossi in an interview with Seattle's KIRO radio's host Dori Monson made these comments on April 24/08. Mr. Rossi is trying to oust incumbent Governor Christine Gregoire. Although the interview was mainly regarding budgetary issues there were some callers in the dial in segment who questioned Mr. Rossi regarding the Felony Law signed by Gregoire in 2006 regarding online poker. Mr. Rossi responded that he would have never signed a bill like that. He suggested that with the new felony law it makes playing poker online in your own home on your computer the same as the child pornographic laws. Mr. Rossi suggested that if a college students who play online poker in the state of Washington was to be indicted it would completely screw up their life. He believes that doesn't make sense and the punishment certainly doesn't fit the "crime". Mr. Rossi also noted that he would definitely sign any legislation reversing that archaic law.
Until these so called do-gooders in Washington come into the 21st century way of thinking, they will continue to look like the backward self righteous nation they continue to be in the eyes of the rest of the democratic world.
